The thousand and one delights of Château de Fontpinot vintage cognacs
Gently unfolding in our cellars, our most
excellent vintages are biding their time until
the most fervent wine lovers finally pour
themselves a glass of liquid enjoyment, a
moment of sheer pleasure.
Taken from the cellars of the Château de Fontpinot Estate, these
rare treasures are sealed barrels of our finest Vintages, each one
unique in its own right.
From the liquid elegance of our 1888 in its superb
crystal decanter that brings forth the floral notes of
the Folle Blanche grape, to the bewitching, 20-year
old 1986 that is the very essence of Château de
Fontpinot Estate... vintage Frapin Cognacs are
sensuality in a bottle.
Our new 1986 comes in numbered bottles and
echoes the cognacs of old which reflected the
concentration of the wine used to make them.
Its amber-gold tints encase a sweet blend of white
flower and vanilla scents with hints of quince and
acacia honey. Just a sip and its flavours roll over the
tongue in a wave of lasting pleasure made up
of almonds mixed with candied orange, apricot and
tropical fruit, not to mention the celebrated taste
of rancio.
20 YEARS of sealed enjoyment
Harvested, distilled, aged and bottled at the Château, our 1986 hails from one single area -Grande Champagne Premier Grand Cru du Cognac - and from one single vineyard: the Château de Fontpinot Estate. As soon as the brandies left the stills, our Cellar Masters selected those which showed the most concentration, the sign of a very expressive Cognac. This vintage matured for 20 long years in five 350 litre casks before being bottled. Other casks which were also sealed in 1986 continue to age gracefully... the promise of pleasures to come.
